Snow Tea (Herbal)

Snow Tea is not traditional tea but a plant, technically a form of lichen, that grows wild in the Lijiang mountains of Yunnan, China. It is not able to be commercially farmed, so this rare treat is harvested at elevations as high as 5,000 feet above sea level. It is named for its snowy white color. It produces a very light cup with a neutral and slightly smoky flavor with a hint of both bitterness and sweetness. It was used as an imperial court tribute during the Ming Dynasty.  Snow Tea is naturally air and sun dried. Caffeine free.
 
Brewing: 212ºF water (boiling) Steep for 3-7 minutes
